Lab Testing, Purity & Variance

Independent laboratories assess batches using established analytical techniques. HPLC is commonly used, with other suitable methods selected according to the characteristics of the compound.

Batch reports allow customers to compare the supplied material with its analytical results. Check that the report’s lot number matches the number on your product label.

Our content specification permits a difference of up to 10% above or below the labeled quantity.

A measured quantity can differ slightly from the label. A batch remains within specification when that difference is no greater than 10% in either direction.

A batch outside this range, whether above or below the label amount, is withheld for assessment before release is considered.

Freeze-dried peptides use a different analytical reporting approach. Their purity is normally expressed as a specific percentage rather than as a reporting band.

A blend contains more than one compound. A single purity value would describe the combined mixture, so each component is assessed by its identity and measured content instead.

Consult the individual batch report to identify the purity grade applicable to that product.

Purity and content describe different aspects of a material:

Purity describes the proportion of the material that is the specified compound, compared with other substances present.

Content compares the measured quantity of the compound with the amount stated on the product label.

Both measures must satisfy the relevant specification. High purity does not establish that the labeled amount is present, and matching the labeled amount does not establish purity. Reports therefore show both values.

The ±10% benchmark is drawn from published pharmacopeial standards. The relevant chapters describe a range of 90% to 110% of the labeled amount.

Chapter <905>, addressing dosage uniformity, describes a normal acceptance interval of 90–110% of the label claim.

For compounded substances without an individual official standard, Chapter <795> describes a tolerance of ±10% of the labeled strength.

Research compounds do not have a dedicated published USP specification. We voluntarily use this published range as a benchmark for our own materials; it is an internal choice rather than a standard imposed on the research-compound category.

Public versions of both chapters can be consulted through the references listed at the end of this page.

Capsules distribute a small quantity of compound throughout a filler. Dividing that mixture among many capsules introduces some unit-to-unit variation. A bulk powder weighed as one quantity does not have the same distribution issue.

The published standard recognizes this variation. An individual capsule may commonly fall around 85–115% of its label claim, while the overall batch remains subject to the 90–110% range.

The batch acceptance range stays the same; only the anticipated difference between individual capsules is broader.

Reporting depends on the laboratory’s analytical method and the way it presents high-purity results.

A banded report expresses purity as an interval rather than as an exact decimal:

  • A 96%+ result represents measured purity between 96% and 98%.
  • A 98%+ result represents measured purity between 98% and 100%.

In this reporting format, 98%+ is the highest available band. It represents purity within the 98–100% interval rather than a result barely above a minimum. A more precise decimal requires additional analysis; the interval is the result supplied by the standard reporting method.

A specific percentage, such as 99.4%, reflects the issuing laboratory’s method and reporting format. It does not by itself identify a separate class of material. Always compare the certificate with the lot number on the container.

Published research has identified labeling problems in online research compounds. A 2017 JAMA study assessed 44 products marketed online as SARMs: 52% contained a SARM, and fewer than half contained the amount shown on the label.

Our response is to publish laboratory reports as they are issued, including results that come in below 100% of the labeled amount. Reported figures describe the tested batch at the time of analysis.

HCG and HMG are not synthetic peptides. They are glycoprotein hormones purified from human urine, and their structure makes a purity percentage scientifically meaningless.
A synthetic peptide such as BPC-157 or Ipamorelin is a single defined chain. It produces one sharp peak on HPLC, and the percentage of total peak area that peak represents is a real measure of how clean the material is. That is the purity figure you see on those reports.

HCG and HMG have structural features that make a single HPLC purity value unsuitable. Their non-covalently associated subunits can separate in the analytical solvents, and variable sugar chains broaden the chromatographic response. HMG also contains more than one hormone, so one purity percentage would not adequately describe the material.

Appropriate analytical methods are selected for each material. For HCG and HMG, reports use measured international-unit content against a reference standard together with identity confirmation. Blends are similarly assessed through the identity and amount of each component rather than one combined purity percentage.

Synthesis, drying, weighing, blending, filling, and instrumental measurement all introduce small variations. A measured result can therefore sit slightly above or below the label while remaining within the stated acceptance limits.

Laboratory results are published in the form issued by the laboratory, without numerical adjustment.

    Peptides

Research peptide materials are generally supplied as freeze-dried powders. This format helps preserve material stability during storage and transport.

Reconstitution materials, including bacteriostatic water, are supplied separately unless explicitly listed as included.

Keep freeze-dried peptides sealed and protected from light. Follow the individual product label for storage: refrigerated storage around 4°C or frozen storage around −20°C may be specified according to the material and storage period.

Allow a frozen sealed vial to reach room temperature before opening to reduce condensation. Where a laboratory protocol requires repeated use, suitable aliquoting can reduce freeze-thaw cycles.

Where the product specifies a shelf life of up to 24 months, that period assumes correct storage in the original sealed container, protection from light, and the labeled refrigerated or frozen conditions.

Shelf life reduces substantially once a vial has been opened and reconstituted. The manufacture date and lot number are traceable via the COA documentation .

SARMs, nootropics, and PCT compounds in capsule or powder form carry a shelf life of up to 24 months from manufacture date when stored sealed, away from direct light, at controlled room temperature (15–25°C).

Where specified on the label, liquid materials should be refrigerated at 4°C and used within six months after opening. Degradation resulting from unsuitable storage after delivery is outside our responsibility.

LOVE MUTUAL peptide vials are identified by stopper colour, as specified on each product page. Vials sold individually are unlabelled; identification relies on stopper colour only.

Stopper colors can vary with packaging availability. Verify material identity using the product label and batch information, and ask our team if clarification is needed.

All LOVE MUTUAL liquid and solution products contain 7% ethanol. This is consistent across the liquid formulation range.

Peptide kits and individual peptide vials are dispatched as separate consignments with separate tracking numbers — two tracking emails are issued. If only one tracking number has been received, check spam and junk folders or request confirmation from [email protected].

Shipping and customs packaging may carry descriptions used for transport formalities. Identify the material by the product and lot information on the vial label.
